Our Christian faith is not a faith of glamour or prosperity in the world, we have riches in Heaven, Eternal riches by the grace of God! But we still live in this world, and our walks will be marked with suffering
(2 Timothy 3:12) “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,”
(1 Peter 4:12-16) “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory[a] and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.”
(Philippians 1:29) “For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,”
When we find ourselves in times of trouble, hardship, persecution, and suffering it is not a curse. We have confidence in Jesus Christ! We have an advocate with the Father. And we can call on God at any moment of our lives and He is faithful to strengthen us, deliver us, and listen to us. We might not always get the deliverance or answer that we want, but we can trust that whatever God is doing that it is far better than anything we could possibly conjure up in our own heads!
